California Democrat Nancy Pelosi, whose net worth exceeds $100 million, announced that she’s giving her staffers a pay increase on the backs of American taxpayers.

Pelosi said the new maximum annual salary for staffers has been increased to $212,000.

This hefty pay increase puts staffer salaries considerably higher than most elected House members and senators, which is set at $174,000 per year.

Pelosi also established a new minimum annual salary of $45,000 for congressional staffers.

Pelosi will leave her position in the speaker’s office when the new Republican majority takes over as the 118th United States Congress.

This new maximum salary is intended to “retain and recruit the best talent in our nation,” Pelosi says.

Socialist Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has notorious argued that the annual $174,000 salary for House representatives and senators is too low.

Ocasio-Cortez says her salary isn’t enough to cover her cost of living in both Washington and her New York City congressional district.

Colorado Republican Lauren Boebert recently reminded Pelosi that her 20-year reign as the top Democrat in Congress is finally over.

Pelosi has been dethroned from the titles of “majority leader” and “speaker.”

“Madam Speaker, the American people have spoken,” Boebert said. “They fired you and have chosen to end the Democrats’ one-party rule throughout our government.”

“The days of this chamber being treated as Pelosi’s house instead of the people’s house are over,” Boebert continued. “The American people will once again be allowed into this chamber to see their representatives at work.”

Pelosi confirmed that she will not seek re-election as the House leader for Democrats.

In her farewell speech, Pelosi refused to mention the name of Donald Trump, but listed every other president alongside she served.

She named George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

Pelosi plans to stay in Congress, but will no longer seek leadership positions in the Democratic caucus.

“I have enjoyed working with three presidents, achieving historic investments in clean energy with President George Bush; transformative healthcare reform with President Barack Obama, and forging the future — from infrastructure to healthcare to climate action — with President Joe Biden,” Pelosi stated.

“Now we must move boldly in the future grounded by the principles that have propelled us this far,” she added.

President Joe Biden released a statement praising Pelosi soon after her speech.

“When I think of Nancy Pelosi, I think of dignity,” Biden said. “History will note she is the most consequential Speaker of the House of Representatives in our history.”

“There are countless examples of how she embodies the obligation of elected officials to uphold their oath to God and country to ensure our democracy delivers and remains a beacon to the world.”

Bien continued, “In everything she does, she reflects a dignity in her actions and a dignity she sees in the lives of the people of this nation.”
